Attention foodies...

Some news you might be interested in. Some other news. And finally, a quiz. (I'm a "debonair diner" - thanks in large part to some of the people I associate myself with... Otherwise how would I know what foie gras or a NY Strip was?!)

  1. the crocker plaza farmer's market started about three weeks ago... it's not bad, but i haven't really gotten the chance to grill the purveyors (in order to figure out if they *really* know their product). the farmers market with the cheapest prices is at sf civic center or alemany. the saturday ferry plaza market is something to behold, although the prices are astronomical and it's way overcrowded. i tend to frequent berkeley's saturday market (fits nicely into my schedule).

*btw, i scored 37/38 on that quiz! although my fashion obsession is also pretty up there... (runs of to tend to a batch of gesieurs confit)

  2. Anything to make the place more relevant. The Crocker Galleria is a successful food court atop two levels of languishing luxury stores. Apparently city workers like having places to eat but seldom shop for $500 lingerie and gold watches.

If you can get your paws on those fancy tomatoes, try eating a green zebra out of hand like a peach. My human seems to really like them. Think of it as a big berry, which it is.

  3. I scored 28 / 38 (and achieved low-end "blossoming bon vivant" status), which was a shock.

  4. Was "gesieurs confit" on the quiz? If so, I should've failed miserably. :)
